Five Raiders Earn PL Preseason All-League Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Five Raiders garnered spots on the Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Preseason All-League Team, and Matt LaCombe was named Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year, announced Wednesday.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Five Raiders garnered spots on the Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Preseason All-League Team, and Matt LaCombe was named Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year, announced Wednesday.

Hunter Drouin, Max Yates, Rory Connor, and Aidan Murnane joined LaCombe on the Preseason All-League Team. Colgate was also voted third in the preseason poll.

LaCombe, the 2024 Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year and First Team All-Patriot League honoree, finished second in the conference and 12th nationally in saves with 196. He also ranked third in the league and 10th nationally in saves per game (13.07).

The senior logged four games with 15-plus saves, including stopping a season-high 20 shots in a win over Loyola March 2.

Drouin was also a First Team All-Patriot League selection last season. He recorded 52 points with 38 goals and 14 assists. Drouin posted 11 games with three-plus points and 12 multi-goal performances.

The junior ranked eighth in the Patriot League in goals, seventh in goals per game (2.53), and eighth in points per game (3.47).

Yates finished second in the Patriot League and tied for eighth nationally in caused turnovers (31) last season. His 2.07 caused turnovers per game ranked second in the conference and eighth in the nation. The senior was also fourth in the Patriot League in ground balls (84).

A 2024 First Team All-Patriot League selection, Yates logged 10 games with multiple caused turnovers, including three contests with four or more.

Connor finished the 2024 season second in the Patriot League in assists (35) and third in points (65) while scoring 30 goals, all of which were career-bests.

The senior posted seven games with five-plus points and tallied eight multi-goal performances. Connor recorded eight points in each of the final three games of the season, matching his career-high.

Murnane registered career-bests in caused turnovers (20) and ground balls (38) last season. He fell second on the team and tied for ninth in the conference in caused turnovers.

A 2024 Second Team All-Patriot League selection, the senior finished fourth on the Raiders in ground balls after recording three contests with five or more.
