Colgate Drops First League Duel
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Women's tennis fell to Lehigh, 6-1, on Sunday afternoon, in the Raiders' first Patriot League loss of the season.
"It was a tough loss today for the ladies," head coach Bobby Pennington said. " I thought aside from Amelia and Addie we came out very flat and played flat, unfortunately. Credit to Coach Leavitt as she clearly learned a lot from her time at Colgate and took full advantage of coaching one team with a nice indoor facility. We have four matches left and need to regroup fast."
It was tough sledding early for Colgate after being swept in doubles action.
Colgate clawed back with a 6-2, 6-1 win from Amelia Galin in singles three, but after falling on court two, the Raiders still trailed, 2-1.
It was as close as Colgate would get as the Mountain Hawks swept four through six and added a first singles victory to drop the Raiders to 8-8 on the season and 1-1 in Patriot League play.
