HAMILTON — Blake Pipkin tied the game at 1-1 in the 54th minute, but Cornell scored three unanswered to take a 4-1 win over the Raiders Tuesday afternoon at Beyer-Small '76 Field.

Goalkeeper Eric Widrick made a career-high 13 saves in the defeat. He stopped nine shots in the second half, including back-to-back saves in the 72nd minute when Cornell had two shots right in front of goal.

Pipkin knotted the game up with his fifth goal of the season, finding the back of the net for the second straight game and the fourth time in five contests. Colin Hughes played a cross into the box that the first-year one-timed off the bounce, slotting a shot into the bottom right corner.

The Big Red quickly responded, scoring two goals less than a minute and a half apart. The first came just over two minutes after the Raiders' equalizer when Alex Harris netted his second of the contest. A minute and 22 seconds later, Aidan Martin put one in off the rebound of a shot by Harris to make it 3-1.

Cornell added an insurance goal in the 79th minute when Sam Latona scored off a feed from Liam May to push the visitors' advantage to three at 4-1.

The Big Red took an initial 1-0 lead in the 29th minute when Harris fired in a shot following a pass from Giorgos Diakos.

Widrick also made some big stops in the first half, including a one-handed save eight minutes into the contest to deny Cornell on a shot toward the upper left corner. He also stopped a rip from inside the box in the 24th minute.

Jacob Blackwin had a chance to get the Raiders on the board in the 36th minute when he found the ball loose in the box and fired one that got saved by the keeper. Colgate earned its first corner of the game in the 29th minute but could not get a shot.
