HOW IT HAPPENED
- 15 minutes into the match, Blake Pipkin found Cason Stafford inside and Stafford was able to pull a shot from about 20 yards away but it missed high.
- Moments later, Drew Stephans nearly rifled the ball into the top left but the chance went just high.
- Pipkin pulled a shot wide of the target with 10 minutes left in the first half.
- American's best chance of the half came with five minutes left but Eric Widrick stood tall and deflected a shot out of play safely.
- Each team was only able to manufacture one shot on target apiece and the game remained scoreless through the opening 45 minutes.
- The Eagles broke the deadlock 22 seconds into the second half and took a 1-0 lead.
- Eric Widrick made a diving stop 15 minutes into the second frame to keep Colgate within touching distance.
- Malik Samms tried to curl the ball into the top corner but was unable to keep the shot low enough.
- With less than five minutes to go, Pipkin floated a cross to the back post for a waiting Cole Ramey but the finish wasn't steered in and the Raiders fell 1-0
