Colgate Drops Game at Cornell
ITHACA, N.Y. - The Raiders fell 2-1 in a tight match against Cornell on Sunday afternoon at Berman Field. After Molly Richards equalized for Colgate in the 53rd minute, Cornell was able to score the deciding goal with less than four minutes to play.
COACH HOKANSON'S COMMENTS
"Tough way for the game to end, our sport is that way sometimes. I felt as though we had the better of the second half and looked the more likely to score but credit to Cornell who found a way to capitalize on a late set piece. As always, very back and forth between us, and going into half one down meant we had to do a lot of work to get back into the game. Some great individual performances, as well as some really shining moments for us as a group. We'll take the good and the fuel from the result into another tough week of games ahead."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ari Bezanson created the first chance of the game for the Raiders 12 minutes in when she hit a shot towards the bottom left corner that the Cornell goalkeeper was able to save.

- After Ellie Stokes nearly equalized with a long range effort that forced a corner kick, Molly Richards flicked a header into the bottom corner off the cross from Cate Childers.
