Raiders Fall To Boston U
BOSTON – The Colgate women's tennis team fell to Boston University on Sunday by a score of 6-1. First-year Rebecca Hess picked up the squad's sole win at line six, continuing her six-match win streak and improving her overall record to 6-3 on the season.
The Terriers took the doubles point against the Raiders winning lines one and two. Junior Amelia Galin and sophomore Sophia Montero fell 6-3, and senior captain Eliza Podlas and sophomore Carina Cristobal fell 6-1. Hess and senior captain Addie Eklund were ahead 3-2 on court three in a match that went unfinished.
Boston U rode their doubles success to wins in five of the six singles matches. Montero lost 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 at line two singles, and Eklund fell 6-3, 6-4 at line four. Colgate's sole victory came from Hess at line six, with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 triumph.
The Raiders return to action on Friday at 7 p.m. against Wagner at Drumlins Country Club.
