HAMILTON – Fifty-four holes for a Patriot League Championship.

HAMILTON – Fifty-four holes for a Patriot League Championship.

Colgate heads to Bethlehem, Pa., for the Patriot League Championship this weekend hosted by Lehigh at the par-72, 7,091-yard Saucon Valley Country Club. Clear skies are expected with temperatures climbing from mid-60s on Friday and Saturday to mid-70s on Sunday.

"We can't wait for the opportunity to compete for a championship," said head coach JP Kircher. "The guys have worked extremely hard all season to get us ready for this. We've been playing well recently, so hopefully we can continue that momentum for 54 more holes. We have a lot of experienced guys back from last year's team that finished second. We can't wait to get started on Friday."

Tournament Details and Live Scoring

The three-day, 54-hole championship is scheduled to tee off at 9 a.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with the eight teams playing 18 holes each day. For additional information regarding the 2024 Patriot League Men's Golf Championship, click here

Familiar Territory
Three of Colgate's six golfers this weekend were members of last year's Patriot League championship team that brought home second place. McCabe paced the team with a fourth-place finish to earn All-Patriot League First Team honors, followed by second team selections Herzig and Fedele who tied for sixth on the individual leaderboard.

Carrying Momentum
Colgate is coming off a strong performance last weekend, beating St. Bonaventure by 17 strokes in the Duel at Bartlett (560-577). Colgate's 560 aggregate finished even par, matching the lowest 36-hole total in program history. Herzig fired a final-round 63, the lowest round in program history, and won the tournament with a 69-63=132 (-8) two-day card, also the lowest score in relation to par in program history.

Individual Honors
The competitor with the lowest three-round score will be the Patriot League Men's Golf Championship individual medalist. The top five finishers are named All-Patriot League First Team, with the following five finishers earning a spot on the second team. Patriot League men's golf head coaches will vote for the three major awards - player, rookie and coach of the year - at the conclusion of the championship.

Crowning A Team Champion
Each of the six participating teams consists of six golfers, with the top four scorers in each round counting toward the team score. The final team score will be determined by totaling all completed rounds. Individual scoring consists of the lowest aggregate score of all completed rounds.

Team Champion Earns Automatic Bid to NCAA Regionals
The Patriot League Champion will receive the League's automatic bid to the NCAA DI Men's Golf Regionals. The individual medalist will also receive a bid to the regionals if they are not on the championship team. The NCAA Regionals will be held from May 13-15 at six sites around the country, including Austin, Texas, Baton Rouge, La., Chapel Hill, N.C., Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., Stanford, Calif., and West Lafayette, Ind.
