Rory Connor named Patriot Scholar-Athlete of the Year

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Rory Connor was named the Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year, while Hunter Drouin and Liam Connor joined him on the Academic All-Patriot League Team, announced by the conference on Thursday.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Rory Connor was named the Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year, while Hunter Drouin and Liam Connor joined him on the Academic All-Patriot League Team, announced by the conference on Thursday.

Connor, an economics major, is the program's first Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year since 1998.

He earned postseason academic honors from the conference for the second straight season after grabbing a spot on the Academic All-League Team in 2024. Connor is a three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection who has held internships in investment banking and has been a Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society member.

Connor also helped in the team's community service efforts, such as picking up trash at a park in New York City and welcoming Hamilton Central students on the first day of school.

The senior has served as a team captain for the Raiders this season, sitting second on the team in goals (42), assists (25), and points (67). Connor was named First Team All-Patriot League, ranking tied for third in the conference and tied for eighth nationally in goals per game (3.00) while sitting fourth in the Patriot League and 11th in the NCAA in points per game (4.79).

Drouin, a political science major, earned Patriot League academic honors for the first time in his career. He is a two-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection. Drouin also led the Raiders' LaCROSSe Out Cancer awareness efforts, raising $30,000 for pediatric cancer.

On the field, Drouin served as a captain for the Raiders this season. The junior earned First Team All-Patriot League accolades for the second straight season, posting 38 points behind 25 goals and 13 assists. He ranks third on the team in assists and fourth in goals and points. Drouin also falls tied for second on the squad in man-up goals (5).

L. Connor, an economics major, also garnered his first postseason academic honor from the conference. In 2024, he earned a spot on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Connor has also helped with the program's community service work like the trash pick-up and welcoming students.

The sophomore had a breakout season, posting 31 goals and a team-best 42 assists for a team-leading 73 points. The attackman broke the program record for assists in a season (35) and is second in the Patriot League and sixth nationally in assists per game (2.80). Connor also ranks third in the conference in PPG (4.80).

The Raiders take on Army Friday at 4 p.m. in the Patriot League semifinals at Michie Stadium in West Point, N.Y.
