Herzig Leads Raiders in Tie for 16th Place
APALACHIN, N.Y. – Robbie Herzig shot an even-par 72 and sits tied for 16th to lead Colgate Golf in the opening round of the Matthews Auto Collegiate at The Links at Hiawatha Landing.
Herzig's even par led nine Colgate golfers competing in the two-day tournament hosted by Binghamton. The Raiders are tied for sixth on the team leaderboard after finishing with an aggregate score of 296 (+8) on the par-72 course.
Brayden Dock, coming off Patriot League Golfer of the Week honors, is tied with Justin Fedele in 22nd place after turning in one-over 73 scorecards. Jayden Freedman and Leo Li are two strokes back in a tie for 38th at 2-over.
Chad Ruggiero and Jamison Bryant are tied for 47th (+4), while Alex Hill and Wyatt Petersen are tied for 69th (+6).
One hundred and four golfers from 17 teams are competing in the two-day, 36-hole tournament. The final round is set to begin on Monday morning at 9 a.m.
