Golf Leads Bucknell Invitational
LEWISBURG, Pa. – Colgate Golf holds a one-shot lead over St. Johns and Youngstown State after finishing with a 281 team score in the first round of the Bucknell Invitational on Sunday.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament is being played at the par-70 Bucknell Golf Club, where the Raiders led wire-to-wire to win the invitational last year with a program-record 839 total score. Colgate leads 18 teams competing in the final tournament of the fall semester.
Robbie Herzig, Justin Fedele, and Alex Hill are all tied in 17th place after turning in even-par 70s in the opening round. Herzig recorded three of his five birdies on the back nine, finishing 3-under through the final nine to register par for the day.
Fedele (4) and Hill (3) combined for seven birdies in their par rounds. Jayden Freedman carded a 1-over 71 and sits one shot behind his teammates in a tie for 32nd place. Brayden Dock (T53) shot 3-over to round out Colgate's scoring contingent.
Wyatt Petersen playing as an individual finished the round with a 7-over 77 to place in a tie for 84th place.
