Neumeier Voted ECAC Rookie of the Week
CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — Michael Neumeier was named ECAC Hockey Bitcoin Rookie of the Week, announced by the conference Monday.
Neumeier tallied three points with a goal and two assists, helping the Raiders earn wins at RPI and Union to conclude the regular season. He also blocked two shots and went +2.
The first-year scored the overtime game-winner against the Engineers on Friday. Neumeier received a pass before skating to center ice and ripping a shot past the goaltender to give Colgate a 4-3 victory.
The defenseman's second game-winning goal this season secured an opening round bye in the ECAC playoffs. Neumeier also logged an assist on the Raiders' first goal of the game that put them up 1-0. It marked his third two-point performance of the season.
During Saturday's 5-1 win at Union, Neumeier tallied an assist on a shorthanded goal in the second period that put Colgate ahead 4-0.
The helper gave him 20 points on the season with eight goals and 12 assists. Neumeier sits tied for eighth among ECAC rookies in points and assists.
Colgate earned the No. 3 seed in the ECAC playoffs. Following the opening round bye, the Raiders will host the third lowest remaining seed in a best-of-three quarterfinal series March 14-16. All three games will start at 7 p.m. inside the Class of 1965 Arena. Quarterfinal tickets will go on sale Wednesday at 10 a.m.
