Raiders' Season Comes to an End

HAMILTON — Colgate's season ended with a 3-0 loss to Cornell in Game 2 of the ECAC Quarterfinals Saturday evening at the Class of 1965 Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Big Red sealed the deal at 3-0 when the Raiders got called for an illegal substitution with an empty net, awarding Cornell a goal.
  • Charlie Major had expanded the visitor's lead to two with a goal just over four minutes into the third.
  • The Big Red's first ta came six and a half minutes into the first from Sullivan Mack.
  •  The Raiders had seven power play chances in the game but could not find the back of the net. Colgate had four power play opportunities in the third, including a five-on-three that it could not convert.
  • Colgate had a flurry of chances in the opening period, with four shots in the first four and a half minutes.

GAME NOTES

  • Andrew Takacs made 19 saves in goal.
  • Colgate's senior class finished with 71 wins and an ECAC Championship during the 2022-2023 season.
  • Senior Tommy Bergsland finished tied for ninth in program history in career assists by a defenseman (57). His 152 career games also rank tied for seventh most in team history.
