Takacs Earns Goalie of the Month
CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — ECAC Hockey released its January monthly awards Wednesday, with Andrew Takacs earning MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Month.
Takacs posted a 5-2-0 record, a 2.02 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage during January. He stopped 183 shots, averaging 26.14 saves per game.
The junior was named ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Week on Monday after making 29 saves in his first career shutout at Clarkson last Friday. He stopped 12 shots in the final period to secure the clean sheet.
Takacs made 22 saves in the Raiders' win over Dartmouth Jan. 24 and logged 26 stops in a victory at Princeton Jan. 18.
During the Raiders' sweep of LIU Jan. 10-11, Takacs logged a 1.00 goals-against average and a .965 save percentage. He only allowed one goal in both contests, making 26 saves in the opener and stopping 29 shots in the finale.
Takacs holds a 13-7-1 record, a .910 save percentage, and a 2.62 goals-against average this season. The Bowie, Md., native has been solid in ECAC play for the Raiders, recording 327 saves, second-most in the league.
The Raiders return home this weekend, hosting Union Friday and RPI Saturday at 7 p.m.
