Three Raiders Take Home Patriot League Weekly Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Three Colgate men's lacrosse players earned Patriot League weekly awards, announced by the conference Monday.

Liam Connor was named Offensive Player of the Week, John Carrabine earned Defensive Player of the Week, and Kyle Rummel repeated as Faceoff Specialist of the Week following the Raiders two victories over nationally-ranked opponents last week.

Connor tallied a combined 11 points during the two wins. He tied his career-high in assists (5) and points (7), also scoring two goals in Colgate's 19-14 win at #15 Harvard. The sophomore tallied four points in the second quarter (1G, 3A), helping the Raiders outscore the Crimson 7-2 and take the lead (10-9) at halftime.

On Saturday, Connor recorded his second hat trick of the season in Colgate's 15-6 victory at #19/20 Villanova. He once again finished tied for the team-high in points (4), also notching a helper.

Carrabine tallied six caused turnovers and picked up 10 ground balls in the two contests. He recorded a career-high five caused turnovers and collected six ground balls against the Wildcats Saturday. He caused two turnovers and picked up two ground balls in the third quarter. The long stick midfielder helped hold Villanova to five goals and kept the Wildcats off the scoreboard in the second quarter.

Carrabine also logged a caused turnover and picked up four ground balls in the defeat of Harvard. He helped hold the Crimson to two goals in the second and third quarters.

Rummel earned Patriot League honors for the second straight week after going 15-of-27 (55%) from the faceoff 'X' on Tuesday, also scooping up six ground balls and causing one turnover. The 15 wins tied his career high for the second game in a row. He recorded a 4-for-7 mark in the second quarter to help Colgate outscore the Crimson 7-2.

The sophomore went 7-of-16 (44%) at Villanova Saturday. He posted a 4-for-5 mark in the second quarter during an 8-0 Raider run and went 3-for-4 in the third.
