Rummel and Connor Earn Patriot League Weekly Awards

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Rory Connor was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week, and Kyle Rummel earned Faceoff Specialist of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Connor led the Raiders in goals (7), tying his career high. He also matched his career-best in points (8) with an assist. He notched three goals in the second and third quarters and one in the fourth. It marked the sixth game of his career with four or more goals.

The senior sits second on the team in goals (8) and ranks third in points (10) through three games.

Rummel was spectacular from the faceoff X, going 15-of-21 (71%). Both the win total and the percentage marked career highs for the sophomore. Rummel went 5-for-6 in the first quarter, helping Colgate take a 6-0 lead.

He also went 6-for-8 in the third, with the Raiders outscoring the Great Danes 6-2 in the frame. Additionally, Rummel scooped up four ground balls in the contest and now has 12 total, second-most on the team.

The Raiders are back in action Tuesday, heading to Cambridge, Mass., to play #15 Harvard. The contest now starts at 2 p.m. with a change in time from the scheduled 6:30 p.m. opening faceoff.
