LaCombe, Connor Earn Patriot League Weekly Honors
BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Patriot League released its men's lacrosse weekly awards Monday, with Matt LaCombe earning Goalkeeper of the Week and Liam Connor repeating as Offensive Player of the Week following Colgate's 18-6 win at Loyola Saturday.
LaCombe was superb for the Raiders, making 16 saves and allowing just five goals in the victory. He posted a .762 save percentage after only letting in one goal in each of the final three quarters.
The senior made six saves in the first, helping the Raiders erase an early deficit. LaCombe also stopped five shots in the fourth. He now sits fourth in the PL in saves per game (12.50), having logged 75 this season.
Connor earned Patriot League recognition for the second straight week after leading the team in assists (5) and points (7) to go along with two goals. He tied his career-high in assists and points for the third time in four games.
The sophomore recorded three points (1G, 2A) in the second quarter that saw the Raiders outscore the Greyhounds 7-1 to pull away. Connor ranks third in the conference in assists per game (2.83) and sixth in points per game (4.83).
The Raiders are back in action Saturday when they head to Lafayette for a 12 p.m. contest.
