Box Score ERIE, Pa. – The Raiders hit the road on Saturday night to take on Mercyhurst, where they defeated the Lakers 5-2. Colgate took the doubles point and did not look back, with sophomore Jerome Falcon and senior captain Ben Graham following it up with quick singles wins.

"The doubles play, depth and culture was on full display tonight," said assistant coach Jake Sandler. "Winning the doubles point was huge. The depth really showed out as we cleaned up at four, five and six. Shout out to Josh for a big win at two. The culture and vibes are high heading into a six-match home stand over the next few weeks."

Senior captain Josh Israel and junior Aidan Lee fell 6-3 at line one doubles, but the rest of the doubles lineup immediately responded. Falcon and fellow sophomore Parker McGowan evened the competition with a 6-4 victory at line three, allowing the Raiders to clinch the doubles point when first year Tim Viding and junior Aidan Chung won, 7-5.

Singles action shortly followed, where Falcon won in dominant fashion at line six, 6-0, 6-2. Graham got off the court just after, also winning comfortably 6-2, 6-2, to put the Raiders up 3-0 overall. Lee dropped his match at line three singles, but Viding clinched the duel with his 7-5, 1-6, 6-1 victory. Israel followed that up with a win of his own, 6-4, 6-4.

The match finished with senior captain Benito Vlassis dropping a battle in a third set tiebreaker at line one singles.

The Raiders return to action on Saturday, Feb. 15, where they will kick off a six-match home stand by taking on Siena at 3 p.m. inside Drumlins Country Club.
