Colgate logged four double-digit scorers for the third consecutive game.

COACH ADEDUNTAN'S COMMENTS

"Great team win, we were really locked in from the beginning but our intensity went up a notch in that second half. A lot of contributors down the line, I thought there were a lot of toughness plays and that is what we keep emphasizing, be the team that works the hardest and finishes plays. It is less about want, there has to be a will and desire, I thought we really worked for it today."

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Sophia Diehl and Anne Bair each hit triples inside the first five minutes but Lafayette continued to keep pace with the Raiders ahead 11-7 halfway through the first quarter.
  • The Leopards tied it up at 11 before Morgan McMahon made a layup underneath and Amarah Streiff drilled a trey to put the Raiders back up five.
  • Lafayette used a 6-2 run to start the second quarter and took a 19-18 lead.
  • Both teams traded blows throughout the second quarter with Colgate holding a 27-26 lead with five minutes left in the first half.
  • Lafayette scored five straight to take a 33-29 lead before McMahon and Taylor Golembiewski each made a bucket to knot the score back at 33 apiece.
  • Anne Bair finished off balance as the first half clock expired to give Colgate a 37-35 lead at the break.
  • Christina Midgette scored four points sandwiched between a McMahon triple as the Raiders used a seven-point surge to take a 44-37 lead early in the second half.
  • Colgate kept the pressure on the Leopards, leading by as much as 11, but Lafayette cut the deficit to eight with a minute to go in the third quarter.
  • McMahon hit a fadeaway triple as time expired in the third quarter to put the Raiders up 53-40 heading to the final frame.
  • Golembiewski and Madison Schiller drained back-to-back 3-pointers to start the fourth quarter to extend the Raiders advantage to 59-42.
  • Colgate used a 10-2 run to pull away from Lafayette with under five minutes left in the game.

GAME NOTES

  • The Raiders held Lafayette to just nine second half points, outscoring the Leopards 38-9.
  • Colgate completed the season sweep over Lafayette for the second straight season.
  • Taylor Golembiewski equaled her season-high seven rebounds.

  • The Raiders dominated the offensive glass grabbing 15 offensive boards and holding the Leopards to just two.
