HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams were unable to score until Taylor Golembiewski knocked down a baseline jumper three minutes into the game.
- Golembiewski's bucket sparked a 10-1 Raiders run that included a deep triple from Sophia Diehl and a layup from Madison Schiller.
- American picked up two buckets but Colgate continued to force the issue and took an 18-9 lead after the first frame.
- The Eagles scored five quick points to start the second quarter to cut into the Raiders lead.
- Colgate responded with an 8-2 run that included a corner three from Morgan McMahon off a Sophia Diehl cross-court pass.
- Anne Bair picked off an Eagles pass and found Ella Meabon for a transition layup before Diehl hit her second trey of the quarter and forced an American timeout as the Raiders led 35-18 halfway through the second quarter.
- American converted a layup at the end of the first half but the Raiders took a commanding 42-24 lead into the halftime break.
- The Raiders picked up right where they left off in the first half as they used a quick 10-point surge to extend their advantage to 52-24 just four minutes into the second half.
- American scored its first points of the third quarter just under seven minutes into the frame but Colgate responded with a Madison Schiller 3-pointer.
- Meabon found McMahon in transition as the third quarter clock expired and Colgate took a 63-30 lead into the final quarter.
- Tatiana Matthews found Amarah Streiff inside the paint on a threaded bounce pass to get the Raiders started in the fourth quarter.
- Streiff and Matthews kept in going as they drilled back-to-back triples pushing Colgate's lead to 71-35.
- Golembiewski and Laila Hankerson got in on the action both draining 3-pointers as the Raiders extended their lead to 81-41.
- Chidinma Okafor capped off an impressive performance as the Raiders won 85-43.
