Raiders Fall in WNIT First Round
HAMILTON - The Raiders 2024-25 season came to an end on Saturday night in the Postseason WNIT First Round against Coppin State.
Colgate set new program records for wins in a season (23) and Patriot League wins in a season (13). Morgan McMahon and Taylor Golembiewski concluded their careers in the 1,000 point club at Colgate.
INTERIM HEAD COACH HOLLENSHEAD'S COMMENTS
"That was a game filled with mixed emotions, kind of like the week and season we have had. I feel like our players fought and competed.
"Our team is together. They know no matter what, each player has one another's backs, basketball or not. Our players have worked their butts off since the summer. They deserve everything they got and more. Every single day those players show up and fight."

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sophia Diehl and Amarah Streiff each hit from downtown to help get the Raiders in front 11-7 halfway through the first quarter.
- The threes kept coming as Streiff and Morgan McMahon each hit a trey down the stretch and the Raiders led 17-9 after one.
- Taylor Golembiewski was fouled shooting a 3-pointer and hit all three from the charity stripe to give Colgate a 23-11 advantage.
- Coppin State stormed back with a 10-point surge to get within two and force a Raiders timeout.
- Golembiewski nailed a stepback jumper with under a minute left in the half to give the hosts a narrow two-point lead at halftime.
- After Coppin State took a 31-27 lead to start the second half, Colgate hit back-to-back threes from Diehl and Anne Bair to regain a six-point advantage.
- McMahon drained two 3-pointers at the end of the third frame and the Raiders held onto a 43-38 lead with 10 minutes left.
- The Eagles used a 10-0 to open the final frame and took a 48-43 lead with five minutes left in the game.
- Bair made the Raiders first points of the fourth quarter with a minute left to cut the deficit to 53-45.
- Golembiewski splashed a corner three to get within six but that would be the closest the Raiders would come, falling 58-48.
