Bush Adds Chambers as Assistant Coach/Operations
HAMILTON - Colgate women's basketball head coach Shannon Bush has announced Zenise Chambers as the women's basketball director of operations and assistant coach.
Chambers joins the Raiders after most recently serving as the assistant women's basketball coach at Macalester College in St. Paul, Mn. While at Macalester, Chambers helped develop the MIAC Offensive Player of the Year, one MIAC All-Conference selection, six All-Academic student-athletes, and one 1,000 point scorer.
"We are thrilled to welcome Coach Zee to Colgate," Bush said. "Coach Zee brings five years of coaching experience to the role having done almost every job on staff as a Division III assistant. As the hiring process for this role unfolded, it was evident that her level of preparation, thoughtful approach, resourcefulness, passion for all aspects of the holistic student athlete experience, and love of the game made her the perfect person for this opportunity. Coach Zee will make everyone around her better, both in our program and within our community, because of who she is and how diligently she works."
Prior to her role at Macalester, Chambers served as the assistant coach at Randolph College in Lynchburg, Va. In her two seasons at Randolph Chambers coached one First Team All-Conference selection, two All-State selections, two ODAC Rookies of the Year, and two VASID Rookies of the Year.
Chambers played four years of college basketball at Averett University in Danville, Va. where she was a member of the most successful team in program history. She helped clinch the USA South Conference East Division Regular Season Title in the 2018-19 season and was awarded the Outstanding Service Award three times while being a senior captain.
"First, I want to thank Coach Bush for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to join the staff," Chambers said. "I'm thrilled to join the Colgate community and excited to contribute to the growth and success of our student-athletes on and off the court. Go Gate!"
After graduating from Averett University with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine & Coaching and minor in Communications, Chambers completed her masters degree at Randolph College in Coaching and Sports Leadership.
