HAMILTON – Senior Hannah Murphy is one of 35 NCAA netminders to be named to the Women's Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA) Goalie of the Year Watchlist, marking the third-consecutive year she has earned the honor.
The 2023-24 HCA Goalie of the Year Semifinalist has posted a .928 save percentage along with a 2.05 goals-against average so far this season, the latter of which is the fourth-best in the ECAC.
Murphy has also logged the third-most wins in the NCAA so far this year, boasting a 15-5 record while making 529 saves, tied for the sixth-most in the nation.
This initial "Watch List" of outstanding goalies is comprised of those with a goals against average of 2.10 or lower or a save percentage of .920 or higher. A committee of voters — made up of a cross section of coaches, administrators, and media — will pare this list down within the next two weeks and then ultimately choose the winner who will be announced in March during the NCAA Frozen Four.
Murphy and the rest of the Raiders return to the ice this Friday to take on No. 10 Quinnipiac at 6 p.m. in the Class of 1965 Arena.
