Three Former Raiders to Skate in Rivalry Series
HALIFAX, Nova Scotia – Colgate Class of 2023 alumnae Danielle Serdachny, Allyson Simpson and Sydney Bard will compete in games four and five of the iconic Canada versus United States Rivalry Series taking place over the next two days up north.
Serdachny and Simpson both competed in the earlier leg of the series last November where Canada took a 2-1 lead, while Bard will make her national team debut this weekend for the Americans.
Simpson, who currently skates for the New York Sirens in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL), appeared in all three matchups last November adding her first career point with the US National Team on Nov. 9. In a 5-4 shootout loss for the Americans on Nov. 8, she picked up the secondary assist after drawing a defender up high and sliding a puck across the blue line leading to a deflection in front of the net.
Serdachny, the second-line center for the Ottawa Charge in the PWHL, played in two out of three games for Canada last November and has now suited up in 21 total games for the Women's National Team. She added her fourth career assist in a 4-1 Canada victory on Nov. 10, and has now accumulated nine total points skating for Canada's top team.
Bard will make her international debut after most recently participating in the 2024 National Evaluation Camp. The current Boston Fleet defender also won a silver medal in the 2019 U18 Women's World Championships for the United States.
Game four of the Rivalry Series begins tonight at 7 p.m. in the ScotiaBank Centre of Halifx, Nova Scotia, before the conclusion of the series at 7 p.m. inside Credit Union Place in Summerside, Prince Edward's Island, on Saturday, Feb. 8.
