TROY, N.Y. — Senior netminder Hannah Murphy made 37 saves in her 12th 30+ stop outing of the season, but it was not enough for No. 5 Colgate in a 3-2 overtime loss to Rennselaer.

Sophomore Madeline scored the first goal of the evening in the first period, and junior Elyssa Biederman reclaimed the lead to open the third, but an RPI score with under six minutes remaining led to overtime where the home side would eventually find the winner.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Pais connected on her eighth goal of the season with assists from Alexis Petford and Avery Pickering just over 10 minutes into the first.
  • RPI equalized in the second, but Biederman buried a power-play goal to open the third that reclaimed the lead for Colgate.
  • The Raiders were outshot 17-10 in the final frame and conceded another game-tying score with under six minutes remaining in regulation.
  • Murphy made a quick save to begin the extra period, and after a Palumbo shot was steered away, RPI netted the winner to stop Colgate's win streak at eight games.

GAME NOTES

  • Junior Alexis Petford scored her 100th career point in the loss.
  • Colgate scored its NCAA-leading 32nd power-play goal.
