ALBANY, N.Y. —  A late comeback fell short for the Raiders as they dropped a 15-14 game to UAlbany on Saturday afternoon.

Lucy Licata picked up nine draw controls bringing her season tally up to 57.

COACH GUIDO'S COMMENTS

"Not the result we wanted but we battled to the very last second. We grew as a team today and we will continue to do so in our prep for Holy Cross."

HOW IT HAPPENED

UAlbany scored the first goal of the game four minutes in before Kait Henning used a crafty move inside to tie the game at one apiece.

Ella Bishara, Olivia McDonald, and Caroline Panzirer each logged a goal to keep pace with the Great Danes but the visitors trailed 4-6 after 15 minutes of action.

Panzirer completed her first half hat trick three minutes into the second frame after scoring two goals within 24 seconds and helped the Raiders get back within one.

Henning buried her second of the contest late in the first half but Colgate remained behind 7-9.

UAlbany took its largest lead of the game in the third with a 12-8 lead before Kendall Belanger and Aubrey McMahon scored two straight and clawed the Raiders back within touching distance.

Trailing by three, McMahon and Lucy Licata scored in quick succession to open up the final frame. The Great Danes regained a two-goal advantage but McMahon fired a rocket into the top corner to keep the late comeback hopes alive.

McDonald buried a free-position shot with under four minutes left and the Raiders had three quality looks at the goal in the late stages of the game but were unable to score and fell 15-14.
