HAMILTON - The Raiders fell to Army 3-0 at Beyer-Small '76 Field on Saturday afternoon.

Colgate will enter the final match of the season inside the postseason picture.

COACH HOKANSON'S COMMENTS

"Tough one today. Statistically, the first half we were even in shots and corners, but they found ways to convert those chances and we didn't and that was the big difference in the game today. Unfortunate to not be able to come away with a goal or two, we had some chances to do that which I think would have made the afternoon feel differently. Nonetheless, we lost one half today which is the first one we've lost in a while, so though it doesn't feel great, we have a lot to be proud of in the way that we responded and fought in the second half. We'll regroup, learn from today, and look ahead to a critical game at Holy Cross on Wednesday."

HOW IT HAPPENED

The first 15 minutes of action saw both teams feel each other out. Neither team was able to create any quality opportunities.

Sophie Wand slid a cross into the danger area finding the foot of Ari Bezanson but an Army defender was able to get a foot on the shot taking the sting out of it.

Army took the lead in the 22nd minute from a shot on the corner of the 18-yard box.

Paige Foa got in behind the Army defense after a failed clearance but was unable to find the back of the net.

Army doubled its lead in the 32nd minute.

Army was able to make it 3-0 four minutes before halftime.

Bianca Howitt received a through ball from Bezanson at the start of the second half but the ensuing shot was parried away by the Army goalkeeper.

Paige Foa earned a penalty kick for the Raiders ten minutes into the second half but Army was able to save it.

Colgate was unable to find the back of the net and fell to Army 3-0.

Ella Poppinga finished with four saves in goal for the Raiders.
