Softball Signs Five in Class of 2029

HAMILTON  — Head softball coach Marissa Lamison-Myers will bring in five new Raiders in the Class of 2029, the team announced Wednesday. The versatile class hails from four different states across the country and consists of two pitchers, an infielder, and two utility fielders.

HAMILTON  — Head softball coach Marissa Lamison-Myers will bring in five new Raiders in the Class of 2029, the team announced Wednesday. The versatile class hails from four different states across the country and consists of two pitchers, an infielder, and two utility fielders. 

"We are really excited for this group," Lamison-Myers said. "It's a really diverse class for us coming from all over the country. We're ready to get some young talent in here and see what they can contribute to our program."

#1 Marina Taveras - IF - 5-10 - Fort Worth, Texas

Before Colgate
Lettered as a shortstop for four years at Aledo High School under head coach Heather Myers… Hit .461 in 269 at bats, blasting 18 home runs, 25 doubles and nine triples across four years… Also stole 42 bases with the Bearcats… Helped her team to the State Championship game in 2024… Named to the 2024 Texas State All-Tournament team as a junior… Also played for the Hotshots under head coach Ryan Hooker, hitting .429 with 94 RBIs and 17 home runs in one season.

#4 Kelcie McGraw - Pitcher - 5-7 - Lockport, Ill.

Lettered as a pitcher for four years at Lockport Township High School under head coach Marissa Chovanec… Pitched 159.2 career innings with a 21-5 record… Struck out 229 hitters with aa 2.28 ERA… Named Southwest Suburban Conference Athlete of the Year in 2024… Named ICA All-State first team in 2024 and second team in 2023.

#7 Willow Edwards - P - 5-6 - Rye, N.Y.

Before Colgate
Lettered as a pitcher for five years at Rye Country Day School under head coach Shanitra Brinson… Named All-League first team in 2021, 2022 and 2024… Was an All-NEPSAC Selection in 2024… Captained her junior and senior year squads… Also played for the Rhode Island Thunder Gold National team under head coach Dave Lotti.

Lettered as a utility fielder for four years at Patrick Henry High School under head coach Bud McCombs… Named All-League first team and All-East County in 2023… A first team All-County selection in 2024… Also played for the BSC Bengals Gurule under head coach Ray Gurule… Hit .417 with 16 RBIs with the Bengals.

Lettered as an infielder for four years at Valley Christian High School under head coach Chet Kingery… Hit .435 and captained her senior year squad… Led the Defenders to a CIF Division 5 championship… Was named Freshman Athlete of the Year in 2021… Also named to the Olympic League First Team in 2023 and 2024.
