BALTIMORE – Strong pitching and timely hitting helped Colgate earn another doubleheader split on Saturday, falling to UMBC 3-0 in the opener before taking down Manhattan for the second time in as many days 10-2 in the six-inning nightcap. 

Alexa Acker and Maya Servedio allowed five runs (three earned) on eight hits with seven strikeouts over 12.0 combined innings in the doubleheader. Servedio earned the win in Game 2, yielding four hits and two earned runs with a strikeout in 6.0 innings of work. 

Offensively, Quinn Livesay paced the offense with four RBIs – and three of them came on the final at-bat of the day, pounding her fourth home run of the season. Amanda DeSantis, Analisa Raffaelli, and Alexis Romero all had three hits on the day.

Game 1 | UMBC 3, Colgate 0

• Acker pitched six 6.0 innings in the circle, allowing just three runs (one earned) on four hits with three strikeouts despite shouldering the loss. 
• Colgate couldn't get the bats going, finishing with three hits in the game. The Raiders had their best offensive opportunity in the top of the fourth with runners on second and third and one out, but a groundout and a flyout ended the inning unscathed for the Retrievers.
• UMBC jumped on the board with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth and then tacked on two more in the fifth to open a 3-0 lead, which proved to be the final score. 
• DeSantis had two hits to lead the offense, while Raffaelli finished 1-for-3. Livesay reached base twice with a pair of walks. 

Game 2 | Colgate 10, Manhattan 2 (6)

• Colgate's bats came alive in the nightcap, pounding 10 hits en route to the six-inning victory. Manhattan got on the board with two runs in the top of the first, but then the rest of the scoring belonged to the Raiders. Colgate scored 10 unanswered runs over the final six frames, including two in the home half of the first. Raffaeli and Livesay had the RBIs.
• Jillian Herbst used her speed to help the Raiders take their first lead. She reached on an error, stole third, and later scored on another throwing miscue in a three-run second inning to help push the Raiders in front 5-2. 
• Mackenzie Lewis tacked on two more runs on a two-RBI single to right center in the bottom of the third, scoring Romero and Lily Haluska to stretch the lead to 7-2. 
• Servedio worked around the two runs in the top of the first and then settled in. She retired the last six batters she faced, setting the stage for Livesay who walked it off with a three-run bomb to left center in the home half of the sixth to push the Raiders on top, 10-2.
