DOVER, Del. – Alexa Acker tossed a complete game and Lily Haluska cranked a three-run homer to help lift Colgate past Delaware State 5-1 on Thursday afternoon.

Acker tossed 7.0 innings and allowed one unearned run on seven hits with two strikeouts to earn her second win in the circle. Quinn Livesay once again paced Colgate offensively with two hits, while Haluska drove in three runs on the strength of her fourth home run of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Colgate struck first off the bat of Livesay, who belted a first-inning double to center field, scoring Analisa Raffiella to give the Raiders an early 1-0 advantage.
  • Delaware State took advantage of a passed ball to even the score at 1-1 through two innings before the Raiders took control of the game in the top of the third.
  • Claire Whalen opened the third inning with a walk, and then Livesay extended the frame with a two-out single to set the stage for Haluska. The first-year drilled her fourth homer over the wall in center to bring everyone home and give Colgate a 4-1 advantage.
  • Sydney Berg scored Alexis Romero on a sacrifice fly to extend Colgate's lead to 5-1 in the top of the sixth. Acker stranded two runners in scoring position in the bottom of the sixth and worked around a single in the seventh to preserve her second win of the season.
