WEST POINT, N.Y. — Colgate saw its 2025 season come to an end with 9-6 and 3-2 losses to Army on Sunday at the first-place Black Knights' softball complex.

The Raiders conclude their season 18-33 overall and 6-12 in Patriot League play. Army, which clinched the regular season championship with Saturday's win, will host the conference tournament on the heels of a 33-20 record overall including 16-2 in Patriot League competition.

Game 1 | Army 9, Colgate 6

  • Army used a three-run homer to open a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first, which the home team would not relinquish despite a valiant comeback effort by the Raiders.
  • Analisa Raffaelli scored in back-to-back innings for Colgate, the latter cutting the deficit in half after an RBI double from Mia Cascio. Cascio scored one batter later on Alexis Romero's RBI base knock to trim the deficit to 4-3 in the top of the third.
  • The Black Knights stretched their lead to 9-3 before Colgate made another charge. Mackenzie Lewis scored on an error before back-to-back sacrifice flies from Jillian Herbst and Quinn Livesay made it 9-6 in the top of the sixth.
  • Colgate wouldn't get any closer, however, going down in order in the top of the seventh.

Game 2 | Army 3, Colgate 2

  • Mia Edwards was spectacular in the circle for the final game of the series, keeping Colgate in front 2-1 until the Black Knights rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh.
  • Annie Christiana singled and stole second to start the last frame. She scored one batter later on an RBI single from Taylor Brown to tie the game at 2-2. A sacrifice bunt moved two runners into scoring position before Leila Hurst's walk-off sacrifice fly sealed the 3-2 comeback win for Army.
  • The Raiders took a 2-1 lead off the bat of Cascio, who hammered her fifth home run of the season in the top of the fourth. That was enough for Edwards and Colgate until the seventh.
  • Edwards saddled the loss in the circle, scattering four hits and seven walks with three runs (two earned) over 6 2/3 innings of work.
