ENST Brown Bag: On the Brink: A Firsthand Account of Efforts to Save the Florida Panther

Friday, March 7, 2025 12:15–1:15 PM

Description

Please join Colgate's Associate Provost for Sustainability as he shares his personal experiences working on the Florida Panther Recovery Project in South Florida. At a time when the Florida panther was teetering on the brink of extinction, a small team of biologists, conservationists, and trackers employed extraordinary — and sometimes risky — measures to save this iconic species. Through personal stories, field experiences, and reflections on the people he met along the way, John will provide a firsthand account of the setbacks, the triumphs, and the innovative efforts that helped pull the panther back from the edge of extinction. This presentation offers a unique look at an endangered species recovery effort that remains a powerful case study in wildlife conservation.Hot wraps by Hamilton Whole Foods will be provided and will include gluten-free, vegan, and nut-free options. Please bring your own reusable water bottle.
