As a culmination of their work in the major, senior studio art concentrators complete a semester-long project, creating a body of work based on a concept that is explored in a range of media. This year's studio art exhibition, "Reverberations", features the work of seniors Elizabeth Armstrong, Sophia Cucinotta, Liv Dorian, Aleza Falk, Leia Francis, Caralyn Schmidlein, and Lauren Stewart.Art history concentrators complete and exhibit a rigorous capstone thesis. This year's exhibiting art historians are: Haley Bloch, Grace Helm, Maggie Manzella, Katharine Monahan, Abby Shadwick, Aleksia Taçi, Wendy Wu, and Jacky Zhang.Opening reception: 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11*Please note: Weekend hours are dependent on the availability of student monitors. Join us for a thought-provoking discussion at the crossroads of environmental justice and structural racism.Featuring Wanjiku "Wawa" Gatheru, our MLK Week keynote speaker, this gathering will explore how systemic inequalities intersect with environmental challenges, offering insights into shaping equitable communities and creating a sustainable, just future. Spring 2025 Dates:Open Tuesdays from 4:30 p.m. - 5:30pm and Fridays from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m.Open from Jan. 24 to May 2Anticipated Closures:March 14March 18March 21Located under the Drake Hall Tunnel, the Free Store is an initiative by Colgate's Office of Sustainability that aims to reduce landfill waste of usable goods, while increasing equitable access to items students need. We accept donations from during open hours, clean and weigh the items, and "sell" them for free in our small store setting. Items include: clothing hangers, hampers, soft storage, books, clothing, shoes, kitchen supplies, and more.Donations Now accepting donations! To donate, please see our accepted items below and bring your clean, usable items during open store hours only. The dean of students encourages and supports students’ success by providing opportunities for co-curricular learning and extracurricular experiences to enhance students’ holistic development. Through collaboration with the ALANA Cultural Center, the Office of LGBTQ+ Initiatives, the Office of Student Involvement (OSI), the Office of the Chaplains, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Advising, and the Center for Outreach, Volunteerism, Outreach, and Education (COVE), the dean of students assists in curating the student experience at Colgate.Dean of Students Dorsey Spencer Jr. welcomes the chance to discuss life outside the classroom and embraces opportunities to engage with students regarding their questions, interests, or aspirations.
