Utilizing the LARA Method

This workshop aims to equip participants with a new tool aid to their problem solving toolkits: the LARA Method. Whether it is trying to become a more engaged listener, facilitating constructive dialogue, or trying to de-escalate sensitive topics the LARA method is a fantastically simple way to approach empathic listening. With the LARA method, we hope to minimize misunderstandings and create productive and sustained dialogue across differences.Presenters: Koko Nagatomo (she/her), Xose Agbadan (she/her) Koko Nagatomo, she/her, class of 2027. Koko was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. She is an InterGroup Dialogue (IGD) Intern at the ALANA Cultural Center and is currently pursuing a major in biology and a minor in Spanish. When she's not caught up in academics, Koko is busy running the Japan club or busy cooking.Xose Agbadan, she/her/hers, class of 2025. Xose grew up in Elkins Park, PA. She is a geography/theater major while also working as an InterGroup Dialogue (IGD) Intern. Xose is a passionate lover of beaches and an aspiring urbanist and city planner.
