The Meaning of Sisterhood: Exploring Allyship and Advocacy within a Sorority

Saturday, February 1, 2025 1:00–1:50 PM

Description

Sororities are often seen as exclusive or only focused on social events, but that’s not the full story. This session will tackle these stereotypes and demonstrate the strength of sisterhood. Examples from Tri Delta will be used to discuss how Colgate sororities (and other groups) can act as platforms for social change.Presenter: Sabrina Lin (she/her/hers) Sabrina Lin (she/her/hers) is from New Rochelle, NY, and a member of the class of 2026. She is a molecular biology major and a sociology minor. She is a pre-med student, but in her downtime, Sabrina likes to work on small crafts and read fiction. At Colgate, she is the current DEI Liaison for Tri Delta, a board member for Sipsam (Colgate's K-Pop dance club), secretary for the Colgate Biology Club, and was a Colgate Link her sophomore year. Sabrina plans to attend medical school after graduating to become a pediatrician.
