HANOVER, N.H.— Four different goal-scorers and 33 saves from senior netminder Hannah Murphy paved the way to a hard-fought ECAC win for No. 5 Colgate in a 4-1 victory over Dartmouth. Fifth-year Kristýna Kaltounková added a pair of assists in her fifth-consecutive outing on the score sheet, while sophomore Emma Pais scored her third game-winning goal of the season.

The Raiders were outshot in every period but blocked 15 shots, the third-highest in a game this season, and held the Big Green power play to zero goals on three opportunities. With the win, Colgate jumps back into first place in the ECAC standings with six games remaining in the regular season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Raiders struck first when the Saskatchewan sisters Neena Brick and Alexis Petford connected for the first score of the night two minutes into the opening frame.
  • After Murphy made 15 first period saves, the Raiders doubled their advantage at the 14:57 mark when the top line of Elyssa Biederman and Kaltounková produced a rebounded puck that fell to Pais, who tapped in her 13th goal of the season.
  • The second period looked to be anti-climatic until Ella Belfry netted her first-career goal two minutes before intermission, which was quickly followed by Dartmouth's first score of the night.
  • Colgate was once again outshot in the third, this time by a slim 10-9 margin, but potted the period's only score when Casey Borgiel unleashed a shot from inside her own defensive zone that leaked into the empty Dartmouth net with under two minutes to play.

GAME NOTES

  • Petford and Brick inch closer to the 100 career point mark sitting at 97 and 98 career tallies, respectively.
  • Kaltounková extended her point streak to a team-high five games where she has accumulated nine points.
  • Murphy logged her 15th career outing with 30+ saves, marking her ninth of the season.
