ATLANTA — Senior Jillian Herbst went a perfect 4-for-4 with three walks, four runs and an RBI, but it was not enough as Colgate fell to West Georgia, 5-3, and North Dakota, 15-3, on the opening day of the Bob Heck Memorial Tournament
Game 1: Colgate 3, West Georgia 5
- West Georgia took a 3-0 lead after the first inning before Herbst cut into the deficit with a solo home run.
- Senior Amanda DeSantis hit another one-run homer in the fourth to make it a one-score game, but a two-RBI single from West Georgia put the game out of reach despite Herbst coming around to score after a triple in the fifth.
Game 2: Colgate 3, North Dakota 15
- The Raiders fell behind again after the top of the first, but four straight Colgate walks pushed Herbst across the plate to make the score 3-1 after one.
- North Dakota put up five unanswered runs to take a commanding lead before first-year Analisa Rafaelli launched a two-run home run in the bottom of the third.
- North Dakota tacked on five more runs to put the mercy rule in affect and hand the Raiders a 15-3 loss.

Colgate is back for day two in Atlanta tomorrow with a rematch against West Georgia at 1 p.m. before facing off against Georgia State at 6 p.m.
