Track and Field Participates in Virginia and Albany
HAMILTON - Colgate's outdoor track and field teams participated in two meets this past weekend. The UAlbany Spring Classic was held on Friday and the Virginia Challenge took place on Friday and Saturday.

The Raiders swept the podium in the 5000m run as Sophia Green won the gold medal, crossing the finish line at 19:15.08. France Munger finished after Green and Emma Klina rounded out the top three. Abby Poplawski placed fifth in the event.
Melinda Haagenesen won her second straight gold in the pole vault with a 3.45m vault. Julianna Hallyburton placed second and Georgia Deep locked in fourth place.
Mia Jilani secured a silver medal in the 800m with a time of 2:23.19. Annie Reilly finished just behind Jilani in third, while June Nathan, Juliet Drury, and Chloe Schiller placed fifth, sixth, and eighth respectively.
Annie Reilly collected the bronze medal in the 1500m run with a personal best time of 4:47.96. Linden Cafcules finished in fifth while Juliet Drury placed eighth in the same event.
Sonia Erbe brought home the bronze in the high jump with a leap of 1.46m.
Whitney Smith secured a podium finish with a new personal best, 33.39m throw in the javelin event.
Ini Oyewusi logged a seventh place finish in the 100m and ninth place finish in the 200m.
MEN
Thomas Rivier collected the gold medal in the 5000m run with a personal record finish of 15:30.01. Liam Burgess finished just behind Rivier in second and Asim Hakim-Florian placed fourth.
John Turnbull placed fourth in the 400m hurdles with a personal best 59.54s finish.
Travis Rusak finished fourth in the javelin throw with a throw of 40.27m.
Jedidiah Guenthner logged a fourth place finish in the triple jump.
Jack Gabrielle finished fifth in the 800m. Vincent Ryan placed sixth while Owen DeMatt and Joshua Myers finished seventh and eighth.
Owen DeMatt also secured a bronze medal in the 1500m run, crossing the finish line at 3:58.94. John Griffith finished fourth in the same event.
Colin Buckley ran a personal best 52.87s in the 400m for a seventh place finish.
Virginia ChallengeWOMEN
Sara Tabibian finished sixth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:02.14.
Nell Droege placed 12th in the 5000m run.
Kiran George logged a 16th place finish in the high jump.
MEN
Cole Blair finished 6th in the long jump with a leap of 7.48m. Blair also logged a 12th place finish with a personal best 14.49m in the triple jump.
Ben Horner placed 19th in the 800m.
Liam Davis finished 25th while Dakin Ebmeyer placed 26th in the 1500m.
UP NEXT
The Raiders will turn their attention to the Patriot League Championships scheduled for Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3. The championships are hosted by Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass.
