SYRACUSE — Colgate men's tennis defeated Le Moyne on Saturday night to improve to 6-4 overall this season. The Raiders jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after taking the doubles point, then won lines three through six in singles to win 5-2. It was the squad's first win against the Dolphins since the 2019-2020 season.

"Huge win for the men," said Head Coach Bobby Pennington. "Le Moyne is first place in the NEC and has beaten us the past three years. We played lights out, winning two and three doubles soundly, and then Lee, BG, Falcon, and Lochlan clinched the singles. The doubles, depth, and culture were on full display tonight. We have equaled our win total from the last two seasons with 10 matches left. It's time to try and get to 7-4 against Quinnipiac tomorrow."

The match began with doubles action, where the Raiders jumped out to early leads on courts two and three. Juniors John Fazli and Aidan Chung won 6-2 at line two, and sophomores Parker McGowan and Jerome Falcon triumphed 6-1 at line three. The senior captain duo of Josh Israel and Benito Vlassis fell at line one.

The Raiders quickly added to their lead, with junior Aidan Lee scoring a quick 6-2, 6-2 win at line three. Le Moyne clawed back into the contest with a win over Israel, 6-2, 6-4 at line two. Vlassis fell in a marathon 6-4, 4-6, 3-6 affair at line one, which allowed the Dolphins to tie the matchup back up. However, it would be all Colgate from there, as first-year Lochlan Seth, in his first-ever dual match, took court five 6-3, 6-4. Senior captain Ben Graham clinched the match with a 3-6, 7-5, 7-5 triumph in which he saved five match points. Falcon tacked on another point for the Raiders with a 6-4, 6-3 victory at line six.

The Raiders return to action on Sunday when they take on Quinnipiac at Drumlins at 3 p.m.
