Two Boats Reach Finals for Men's Rowing
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — Colgate men's rowing competed at the Novak Memorial Metropolitan Championships Saturday morning.
HEATS
Colgate's varsity eight took the water first in the second heat of the men's varsity eight event. The crew took first in their heat with a time of 6:26.4, second overall to Marist's time of 6:21.4. The Raiders' top-six finish put them in the grand final, facing Union, Iona, and Fordham again, as well as meeting Marist and Vassar for the first time.
FINALS
The Raiders' second varsity four went straight to the final against Marist after Fordham, Lafayette, and Vassar's A and B crews did not show. Colgate earned first in the final by clocking in at 7:39.5, defeating Marist, who crossed 23 seconds after at 8:02.7.
