It is the Raiders 15th consecutive victory over the Orange, and their 11th win in their last 12 outings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Raiders wasted no time lighting the lamp with Kaltounková scoring her first of the evening less than a minute into the opening period.
- Stewart danced past two Orange defenders for her fifth score of the year, moving the puck to her backhand just outside of the crease to double Colgate's lead.
- Colgate scored twice in the next two minutes with Kaltounková cashing in on a rebounded Malachino wrister, and Neena Brick converting on a tough-angle shot from below the far faceoff circle.
- After a four-goal first period for Colgate, Syracuse cut the deficit to three 12 minutes into the second stanza.
- The Raiders answered quickly with their NCAA-leading 27th power play goal of the season, this time off the stick of Pais.
- With time winding down in the third, Malachino tacked on an insurance tally with just under five minutes to play before Kaltounková picked up the hat trick at the 17:17 mark.
GAME NOTES
- The Raiders put a new season-high 48 shots on goal in the triumph, and did not allow the Orange to put a puck on net until nearly eight minutes into the first period.
- Kaltounková stretched her team-high point streak to 10 games, scoring 20 points in that span.
- Biederman's point streak improved to eight games, where she has added 15 tallies.
- First-year netminder Farah Walker earned her third win of the season making 22 saves at a 96% clip in the win.
