Drouin and Connor Earn All-American Honorable Mention

HAMILTON — USA Lacrosse Magazine released its All-Americans Thursday afternoon, with Rory Connor and Hunter Drouin earning honorable mention accolades.

Drouin garners honorable mention for the second straight year, while Connor earns recognition for the first time. Both players were named First Team All-Patriot League on April 28 and grabbed spots on the Patriot League All-Tournament Team Sunday following the Raiders' win over Boston University in the championship.

Connor has logged 79 points behind 47 goals and 32 assists, second on the squad in all three categories. Connor falls fourth in the Patriot League and ranks 14th nationally in goals per game (2.94), while sitting seventh in the NCAA in points per game (4.94). He has notched a team-leading seven man-up goals.

The senior has registered 11 games with five-plus points, including a seven-point performance (3G, 4A) against Army in the semifinals and a five-point game (2G, 3A) against the Terriers in the title game. Additionally, he logged eight points in wins over UAlbany and Navy. Connor also recorded a career-high 10 points (5G, 5A) against Bucknell.

Drouin has posted 48 points with 32 goals and 16 assists. He falls third on the team in helpers and ranks fourth in goals and points. Drouin has also notched six extra-man goals, good for second on the squad.

The junior has logged nine games with three or more points. Drouin posted two goals and one assist in the quarterfinal win at Lehigh. He then posted four points (3G, 1A) against Army in the semifinals and a team-high six points (4G, 2A) against the Terriers in the championship. During the regular season, he tallied seven points with a career-high six goals and one assist to lead the Raiders to a win at Harvard.

Colgate takes on Penn State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Saturday at 5 p.m. in University Park, Pa.
