HAMILTON — Harvard scored three unanswered goals, including two empty netters, to earn a 4-1 win over Colgate Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Crimson took the lead at 2-1 with nine minutes remaining in the game off a face-off win that landed at the stick of Philip Tresca, who fired it home.
• Harvard sealed the win with an empty-netter by Mick Thompson with a minute left to make the score 3-1.
• A second empty-netter by Justin Solovey occurred seconds later to make the game 4-1.
• Max Nagel opened the scoring 4:54 into the second to make it 1-0 Raiders. He fired a shot past the goalie's glove off a breakaway following a loose puck that got broken up by Jack Brandt and Antonio Fernandez.
• Andrew Takacs kept the Crimson off the board with eight saves in the first period.
• The Raiders started the third period with power play after a Harvard penalty thirty seconds into the period, but it could not convert.
• Colgate earned its first power play chance 12:25 into the second but could not capitalize.
• The Raiders also successfully killed off three penalties in the first two periods.

 
GAME NOTES

• Takacs finished with 20 saves.
• Colgate outshot the Crimson 35-24.
• The Raiders now hold a 3-3-2 record in the last 10 meetings.
