Kaltounková Voted Patty Kaz Finalist
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fifth-year forward Kristýna Kaltounková was voted as a top-10 finalist for the prestigious Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, USA Hockey announced Thursday afternoon. She is the first-ever finalist to hail from Czechia and the third Raider in program history to recieve the honor.
The first team All-ECAC selection is first among active NCAA Division I skaters with 111 career goals, the only current student-athlete to pass the 100 tally mark. Kaltounková ranks second in career points among active skaters with 233, and sits just outside the top 10 for points scored this season (48). She is also fourth in the nation this year averaging 0.76 goals per game.
Kaltounková holds numerous program bests at Colgate, including most goals in program history (111), most game-winning goals (19) and most power-play goals (37). She currently trails Danielle Serdachny '23, a 2023-24 Patty Kazmaier top-10 finalist, by just six for the all-time career points record entering the final weekend of ECAC Hockey competition.
Kaltounková will continue her pursuit of the all-time points record while also looking for four more scores to break the record for most goals in a season (30), set by Jessie Eldridge '19 in 2019.
The No. 5 Colgate Raiders take on No. 7 St. Lawrence in the ECAC Hockey semifinals this Friday at 6 p.m. in Lynah Rink. With a win, they would advance to their fifth-consecutive ECAC Championship game to be played at 3 p.m. in Ithaca, N.Y.
