Softball Drops Doubleheader at Bucknell

Lily Haluska, Claire Whalen, and Mia Cascio each had two hits, while Jillian Herbst, Quinn Livesay, and Haluska drove in runs for the Raiders.
Game 1 | Bucknell 2, Colgate 0
- Bucknell jumped on the board with two singles in the bottom of the second. Shea Malone opened the inning with a single to left before scoring on an RBI knock from Molly Lawson. The Bison padded their lead to 2-0 on a double from Brooke Popella in the fifth.
- Colgate threatened early, advancing a runner to third base in the top of the second, but could not cash in with the runner in scoring position. The Raiders didn't have a hit or baserunner over the final four frames.
- Haluska and Whalen had Colgate's two hits. Mikala Ham allowed one earned run over 4 2/3 innings of relief. Maya Servedio started and pitched 1 1/3 innings, conceding one run.
Game 2 | Bucknell 7, Colgate 4
- Both teams got going offensively in the nightcap. Bucknell struck first, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first to open an early lead. Back-to-back RBI singles from Malone and Makenzie Hilling gave the home team a 3-0 lead.
- Colgate shot back with three runs on the strength of three hits in the top of the third. Herbst and Haluska knocked RBI triples around a run-scoring single from Livesay to quickly draw even with the Bison 3-3.
- Bucknell countered with a go-ahead run in the bottom half of the third and tacked on three more runs in the fourth to take the lead for good. Alexis Romero scored Cascio with Colgate's third RBI triple of the game in the top of the sixth.
- After a 30-plus minute lightning delay, back-to-back singles from Mackenzie Lewis and Whalen brought the tying run to the plate, but Bucknell escaped the jam with three straight outs to preserve the doubleheader sweep.
