Carrabine Named Defensive Player of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Patriot League released its men's lacrosse weekly awards Monday, with John Carrabine earning Defensive Player of the Week.

Carrabine logged a career-high six caused turnovers and scooped up six ground balls to lead the Raiders in the win at Lafayette. It marked the third straight game he has collected six ground balls.

The sophomore caused three turnovers and picked up two ground balls in the first quarter. Carrabine recorded two more CTs in the second quarter for five in the first half. He also recorded a crucial caused turnover at the end of the third to help Colgate keep momentum in what resulted in an 11-2 Raider run.

Carrabine helped Colgate's defense hold the Leopards to two goals in the fourth, with the Raiders outscoring them 8-2.

The long stick midfielder Ranks sixth in the Patriot League in caused turnovers per game ( 2.14) and tied for sixth in ground balls per game (4.29).

Colgate is back in action on Saturday, hosting Bucknell for its home opener at 1 p.m.
