Women's Lacrosse Drops Patriot League Opener
WORCESTER, Mass. — The Raiders dropped their Patriot League opener 14-7 to Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. on Saturday.
Ella Bishara netted four goals in the loss while Lauren Solis made three saves in between the pipes.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After falling behind 2-0 in the first quarter, Caroline Panzirer converted a free position opportunity to get the Raiders back within one. Ella Bishara tied the game at two at the tail end of the first quarter on a free position shot.
Holy Cross regained its lead with a three-goal run in the first four minutes of the second frame.
Bishara buried her second of the day to cut into the deficit before Aubrey McMahon fired a laser into the top right corner and helped Colgate trail 4-5 at the half.
The Raiders tied it up at five apiece after Bishara completed her hat trick early in the second half, but the Crusaders used a three-goal surge to regain an 8-5 lead.
Panzirer ended the Holy Cross run with a bounce shot into the bottom left corner. The Crusaders netted two more before the end of the third quarter and held a 10-6 lead with 15 minutes left.
Bishara converted another free-position shot with nine minutes left in the game to cut the deficit to three.
That is the closest the Raiders could get as the Crusaders scored four more in the fourth and Colgate fell 14-7.

The Raiders (3-4, 0-1) take on Navy next Saturday in Annapolis. The game is scheduled for 3 p.m.
