HAMILTON - Colgate Track and Field has announced the addition of Morgan Holmes and Gage Rayman to the coaching staff. Holmes will work closely with the sprints and jumps group while Rayman will serve as the throws coach as well as program operations
Holmes joins the Raiders after a year at George Mason where she focused on the sprints and hurdles group. During her time at George Mason, she helped develop two A10 Championship Teams, four A10 Individual Gold Medalist, three A10 Championship Relay Golds, five NCAA East Regional Qualifiers, and one USA U20 Qualifier.
Prior to her time at George Mason, Holmes coached at Cosby High School in Midlothian, Va. where she served as the sprints and jumps coach. "Morgan's passion for the sport, proven ability to develop student-athletes, and commitment to fostering a culture of competitive excellence makes her the perfect fit to lead our program into its next chapter."
Rayman last worked at South Dakota Mines where he coached the throws group. Rayman helped develop one student-athlete to national qualifying marks in the javelin and shot put while winning a fourth straight RMAC Championship in the javelin and set school records in both events.
He helped four student-athletes earn outdoor all-conference honors for their throws at the conference championships and record an all-conference finish at the RMAC Championships. Rayman's throws group set a school record in the indoor shot put and set a national provisional qualifying mark in the event.
Prior to South Dakota Mines, Rayman served as an assistant coach at Saint Mary of the Woods College from 2019-23 where he helped the team break 12 school records, earn six Individual conference champions, and coached 11 all-conference student-athletes.
