Softball Wraps Up Bob Heck Memorial Tournament

ATLANTA – Despite out hitting  the Scarlet Knights, Colgate was only able to manufacture one run off a Mia Cascio home run falling in the final game of the Bob Heck Memorial Tournament.

Colgate 1, Rutgers 3

The Raiders loaded the bases in the first inning but were unable to capitalize on the opportunity.

Rutgers took a 2-0 lead in the third off an error from Colgate.

Mia Cascio ripped a homer to left field in the fifth inning to cut the deficit to one for the Raiders. Cascio's home run was her second of her career.

The Scarlet Knights tacked on another run in the bottom half of the fifth to reestablish the two-run lead they never relinquished.

Up Next
Colgate (6-12) takes on UMBC, Manhattan University, and Canisius in Maryland next weekend.The Raiders are scheduled for two games Friday, two games Saturday, and one Sunday.
