Colgate Falls in ECAC Final
ITHACA, N.Y. — No. 5 Colgate could not corral No. 3 Cornell Saturday night, falling in the ECAC Championship inside Lynah Rink, 5-1. Sophomore Kaia Malachino scored the lone goal of the contest for the Raiders who will regroup for the first round of the NCAA tournament to be played next weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cornell blitzed Colgate early with two goals less than two minutes into the first period.
- The Raiders retaliated with the only goal of the second, an Alexis Petford rebound cleaned up by Malachino just in front of the open net.
- Colgate failed to capitalize on a power play to open the final frame, but Cornell would knock in its third goal of the night on a woman-up chance at the 8:22 mark of the third.
- A pair of empty-net scores sealed the Raiders' fate.
