With the non-conference schedule behind them, the Raiders are turning their full attention to Patriot League play. 

Just four games remain in the regular season, and Colgate football has an opportunity to pick up its first road win of the season with a visit to nearby neighbor, Fordham. 

Here are three things to know before the Raiders take on the Rams. 

ANOTHER RUSHING OFFENSE
Just like Merrimack last week, Fordham is another program that relies extensively on its run game. The Rams are just shy of 1,000 rushing yards this season, mostly falling on the back of senior running back Julius Loughridge. 

Although the Raiders struggled against the Merrimack run game, junior linebacker Cole Kozlowski said it's crucial to correct the errors Colgate made in that non-conference loss. The Raiders defense is working specifically on "flying to the ball," in hopes of creating chaos at the line of scrimmage.

Even with Fordham's rush, the Raiders must also pay attention to the Rams' passing game. Junior quarterback Jack Capaldi leads Fordham's offense with 864 passing yards, three touchdowns and five interceptions. The Raiders' secondary has proven its ability to close passing lanes and create turnovers in the backfield, and that will be another key element to success.

SECOND HALF MENTALITY
The Raiders started their second half of the season 1-1, but picking up a conference win to start their closing portion of the season has given Colgate a boost of momentum. The game against Merrimack hasn't changed Colgate's trajectory this year. 

Picking up a win against the Rams requires Colgate to play cohesive football for all four quarters. Fred '50 and Marilyn Dunlap Head Football Coach Stan Dakosty believes his team can do just that against Fordham. 

Plus having back-to-back Patriot League wins can provide a spark the Raiders can carry into their final home game of the regular season in two weeks — though Colgate won't look that far ahead. 

They're focused on Saturday, on Fordham, on playing their best football of the season. 

MEANINGFUL NOVEMBER GAMES
The Patriot League is still wide open for the taking. Every team has four games left to play, and Colgate sits tied for third with Bucknell. Holy Cross is in first place, and Georgetown sits in second. The Crusaders have a bye week this week and the Hoyas play Lehigh at home. With so much available for the taking, it's exactly what Colgate needs to start November. 

The Raiders' goal throughout preseason was to make November filled with meaningful football games. They did just that. Although Colgate had a difficult start to its journey, the Raiders have everything to play for in these final four games of the season. 

It's just a matter of executing the plan Colgate created back in July and August. 

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Cole Kozlowski — Jr. — LB — Colgate
Kozlowki's stellar season is inching closer and closer to his season goal of 100 tackles. He already has 87, good for third in FCS for tackles per game. The linebacker set the triple-digit goal back in the preseason, and has had five games with double-digit tackles, reaching at least 12 in both Patriot League games thus far.

James Conway — Sr. — LB — Fordham
Conway has recorded two 30-plus tackle games this season and sits just 16 tackles away from holding the all-time Patriot League career tackles title. He's recorded 417 tackles over the last four years, but only has 30 this season after playing just three games — all three matchups were Patriot League games.
